Freshwater Cloud Leopard Archerfish
The leopard archerfish (Toxotes chatareus) is a species of freshwater fish found in Southeast Asia, including India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. It is a member of the archerfish family, known for its unique hunting technique of shooting down insects or small animals by spitting a jet of water at them from below the surface of the water.
The leopard archerfish is a relatively small fish, growing up to 15 centimeters (6 inches) in length. It has a distinctive appearance, with a silvery-grey body and dark, leopard-like spots on its sides. Its eyes are positioned toward the top of its head, allowing it to accurately target prey above the water's surface. Leopard archerfish are popular among aquarists due to their unique appearance and interesting behavior.
