Rummy Nose Tetra
The Rummy Nose tetra, also known as the Hemigrammus rhodostomus, is a small, peaceful freshwater fish that is highly popular among aquarists due to its striking appearance. Native to the Amazon River basin in South America, this tetra features a distinctive silver body with a bright red nose and a black and white stripe running along its lateral line. Rummy Nose tetras are schooling fish that should be kept in groups of at least six individuals in a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots. They are peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful fish, making them an excellent addition to a community aquarium. Rummy Nose tetras are omnivores and will accept a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms. Regular water changes are essential to maintain good water quality and avoid sudden changes in water parameters. With proper care, Rummy Nose tetras can live up to 5 years in captivity, providing years of enjoyment and beauty to their owners.
