Frontosa Cichlids, also known as Humphead Cichlids or Cyphotilapia frontosa, are a striking species of freshwater fish native to Lake Tanganyika in Africa. They are named for the distinctive hump on their forehead, which is more prominent in males than females. These cichlids are highly prized by hobbyists for their beauty, but can be challenging to keep due to their specific requirements and potential for aggression towards conspecifics. Frontosa Cichlids have a generally peaceful temperament, but can become territorial and aggressive towards other fish if they feel threatened or their territory is encroached upon.
