Peppered Cory
The peppered cory, also known as Corydoras paleatus, is a popular freshwater fish among aquarium enthusiasts. It belongs to the family Callichthyidae and is native to South America, specifically the Paraná River basin in Brazil and Argentina. This small and peaceful fish grows to a maximum size of around 2.5 inches (6 cm) in length and has a distinct pattern of black spots on a silver or bronze body. The peppered cory is a social fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals. It is a peaceful fish that can be housed with other small, non-aggressive species. It is also a bottom-dwelling fish that enjoys a substrate of fine sand or gravel, as well as plenty of hiding places such as caves, plants, and driftwood.
