Blind Cave Tetra

Blind Cave Tetras (Astyanax mexicanus) are a species of freshwater fish that are native to Mexico. These fish are notable for their adaptation to living in complete darkness, as they are found in caves where there is no natural light. Due to their environment, Blind Cave Tetras have lost their eyesight and pigmentation, and have developed other senses, such as their lateral line system, to navigate and locate prey. They typically reach about 3-4 inches in length, and are omnivorous, feeding on small crustaceans, insects, and plant matter. Blind Cave Tetras are often kept as pets in aquariums, but it's important to note that they require special care due to their unique needs and sensitivity to light.
